Workout: Easy Run
Distance: 3.0 miles
Time: 27:44
It’s been a rough week so far with running. Out of no where my shin has been bothering me, so I’m trying to take it easy this week. I skipped my speed workout that I was supposed to do Tuesday, and swapped it with the easy run and gym workout I was supposed to do on Monday. (Monday was my dad’s birthday, so combine that with pool time in the morning and I didn’t get any running in.)
I was able to stay at a nice slow and easy pace by setting my Garmin’s pace alert to yell at me if I went faster than 8:50. I did a pretty good job…it yelled at me a few times, but I quickly got it under control. Overall the run was nice and easy…breathing steady, pace pretty much the same. It was kinda misty and humid though, so that left me a little wet and uncomfortable, but they can’t all be 70 degrees, dry and sunny. By keeping my pace slow I was able to control the issue with my shin. A few times it twinged, but it feels like it’s getting somewhat better. We’ll see what Saturday’s long run brings. Afterwards I iced my leg, so that should help as well.
Gotta say right now I’m looking forward to keeping this blog going. I posted one post into the internet abyss on a lonely blog website like 2 years ago about running, and never returned to that site. Hopefully a new domain, new design, and motivation to raise some money will keep me going. Hope to hear from you all!

Thanks Banks. And I’ll do my best to promote isthereanycake left as well. The road is long, and my feet are weary…but I shall persevere.
Matt this is fantastic! What an inspiration. Your time is up there. Keep up the fantastic work.
