Workout: 5 miles
Time: 43 minutes
Weather: Hot and Humid
Alright, so, I figured I’d write this blog now before I fall asleep on the couch. Â Yes, I know it’s only 7:45 at night. Â But today’s run was hot and humid, I’m tired, and as odd as this sounds falling asleep on the couch is like a treat for me. Â Guess that’s a good thing…gets me ready for marriage. Â (Thank you, thank you, I’m here all week.)
In running news, I almost didn’t want to run today. Â It’s hot out, and I’m kinda tired. Â But then I sat down at my computer and looked up the ultramarathon training plan on runnersworld.com. Â That led me to a trailer for a documentary on the Massanutten 100 miler. Â I couldn’t find a way to embed the video, so here’s the link:Â http://www.ultrarunningmovie.com/ That got me motivated to get out there and run. Â My favorite quote from the trailer was “There’s something about that second sunrise that gives you a little ray of hope.” Â The guy says it as the sun is coming up the second day, and he seems happy. Â I want that happiness…I can’t wait to start training. Â So in any case, I got out there today and ran a pretty solid 5 miles. Â The last mile was about 30 seconds slower than the others, but about a half mile of it is up a decently steep hill…so that’s that.
Anyway, probably take tomorrow off and then the 5K Saturday with my girlfriend and a 10 miler Sunday. Â So do what you do best…Run on Friends!
