There’s some days that you can’t wait to get out the door to run. Â You throw your clothes on, head out the door, and take off…and end up having a horrible run. Â Then, there’s days like I had today, where you don’t want to get off the couch…but something forces you out the door…and BOOM! Â You have an awesome run. Â There’s really no rhyme or reason to it. Â Some days are great, others horrible, and lots of days in between. Â Mix and match your moods, weather, and overall feelings, and you never know what you’re gonna get.
As I said, today was a combo of no desire and cool weather…and what came out was a fantastic run. Â I decided on the course on the fly, and it worked out well. Â A good combination of uphills, downhills, and straightaways. Â I switched up my running cadence some and pulled my arms in some to see how it would affect my running. Â Well, it had a positive effect. Â I was able to run harder/faster with less effort, because I wasn’t wasting energy by swinging my arms around. Â Hopefully that bit of information will be useful during the race in the later miles when I get tired.
Well, in any case, that’s it for today. Â Look out for a video blog tomorrow! Â Until then…
