Workout: 4.25 Miles
Time: 39:05 (9:14, 9:01, 9:10, 9:16, 2:22)

So today I decided to take it slow.  I started off the morning ok, but I took my time getting to work.  Once I got to work, I decided that I’d spend the first part of my morning not going crazy over 30 different projects, but instead slowing down.  I took time to clean my office, organize paperwork, organize my desktop, clean the top of my desk, even clip a strand of carpet that was sticking up.  It was very therapeutic.  After that, I wrote down a list of all the projects I was working on, and decided to focus on one project at a time.  Granted, as soon as that happened some people started dropping by for things that they needed help with “right away”, but I was still able to maintain my one project at a time pace.  And I accomplished alot.  I also took lunch slow.  I leisurely drove down a long road, looking for a new place to eat, then leisurely drove back up the road again, settling on a salad from the supermarket.  I then, instead of sitting at my desk to eat which I’ve been doing lately, sat down in the lunch room and enjoyed my food with other people.  The rest of the afternoon I stuck to my one project at a time, and was able to leave at 5:00 feeling like I had a great day.  My drive home was slow, because, well, there was a lot of traffic.  But it didn’t bother me at all.
So it only stands to reason that if I was taking the rest of my day slow, I should probably take my run slow too…perhaps I then would enjoy running the same tired 4 mile route again. Â So that’s what I did. Â I set my Garmin to beep if I went faster than 8:45, and off I went. Â Surprisingly it was much easier than I thought. Â The Garmin only beeped at me twice…once on an uphill, once on a downhill. Â Otherwise, it was a very easy paced, very calming run. Â It’s going to take some getting used to running in the dark, as they days get shorter and day light savings time sets the clocks back soon…but I’ll adjust. Â The run was very relaxing yet very productive.
Oh, and I almost forgot. Â I DID do the 100 and 200 challenges last night. Â Granted, they did NOT go as I hoped, specifically the pushup part. Â It’s amazing how fast you fall out of it. Â Granted, I haven’t done pushups in months and months…but still.
In any case, until next time…run on friends!
