Sponsor a Mile!

Thank you for considering pledging a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in support of my running the Vermont 100, a 100 mile ultra marathon in July 2010.  You can pledge to sponsor 1 mile, 2 miles, or all 100 miles…it’s all up to you!  Each sponsored mile requires a $100 pledge, except for miles 1, 50, and 100 which have special donation amounts.  In return for sponsoring a mile (or miles), I will post your special message and photo below on this page.  I will also, on race day, wear the name of the person you are pledging a donation in honor of on my race day gear.  I will be taking photos throughout the event so that you can see the person you request being honored.

My goal is to raise over $10,000 through this event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. To pledge your support and sponsor a mile (or miles), please fill out this form.  I will be contacting those who pledge one month prior to the event to collect donations, so you do not have to provide any money at this point. Or, if you’d like, simply donate online to LLS here and send me a confirmation that the donation was made.  Simply fill out this form and I will include your message(s) below!

So thank you again, and please take time to read the messages and stories from other sponsors below.

Mile 1

meandstephvbSo who’s sponsoring mile 1?  I am.  I figured I’d get it started off myself.  It’s going to be me that gets me through mile 1,  but it’s going to be everyone else who pledges support for mile 2-100 that get me through the rest.  So hurry up and make a pledge…sponsor your favorite number, your birthday, whatever number you want.  Sponsor one mile, two miles, 10 miles!  How ever many you want.  Just fill out the pledge form and lets raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Also, I’ll be doing this in honor of my fiancee, Stephanie, a 2.5 year Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor.  I’m so proud of her, and thinking about her and her strength helps me get through the most difficult of runs.  You can read more about how we met and got engaged on our wedding webpage (sorry, had to self promote a little).
