So…haven’t run since Monday. You’re saying to yourself…”Really Matt? Again? Monday and out?” Well, I don’t think it’ll be that way. I plan to get a run in tomorrow. But I have been limping since Monday. The pain? In my left leg…the same leg which has bothered me consistently over the past year. X-Rays and MRIs and Bone Scans and Physical Therapy and Doctors and Medication. Worthless. Ha. I have no faith in the medical industry…in my experience, the more you attend doctors, the more medical problems that arise. But in any case, I’m hoping that the pain subsides and I get back to running tomorrow. I’m going to be away this weekend, but I still hope to get a long run in either Saturday before I leave or Sunday night after I get back We shall see how it goes. Well, since there was no run, I’m out for now. Until next time…run on friends!

So yesterday was National Running Day, and not one person yelled at me because I wasn’t running or blogging about running yesterday. Shame on you all. I count on you to keep me on the ball and keep me honest. I actually didn’t feel well yesterday, so I did not go and visit my girlfriend…but I still didn’t run because I wasn’t feeling well. So, either way, I missed out.

Swag from Dentist
So I squeezed in today’s run in between the dentist and doctor. The dentist fixed a tooth I broke/chipped the other day. Good deal for that, except now he wants me to come back and get a crown on another tooth…and my insurance only covers 50%. Not fun. My run went well…I started out a comfortable pace, picked it up for 2 miles, then cooled it down at a comfortable pace. It’s amazing how your comfortable pace gets faster and faster the more in shape you get. So yeah, run went well and I walked away unscathed.
Doctor gave me some somewhat good news. While the MRI showed a slightly herniated disk in my lower back, it does not require surgery. Thank goodness. He’s having me do 4 weeks of physical therapy, then he thinks I’ll be good. I’m glad to hear that. And I’m definitely glad to not hear him say “No Running!”. Those are the worst words you can ever hear come out of anyone’s mouth…well, that and “The baby’s not yours”. Ha.
So that’s about it for today. Thanks for checkin in. If you haven’t already, it’d be great if you clicked on that “Donate Now” button on the right and made a donation…thanks!!!
